    What is Bentonite Clay?

Bentonite clay is a natural healing clay that is mined directly from mother earth. Bentonite clay contains a mixture of natural minerals that are beneficial for your hair and can also encourage hair growth. Bentonite clay is also known as Aztec Indian Healing Clay. This clay is sun-dried clay, when you mixed it with water or apple cider vinegar it carries a negative charge and when applied to the skin or hair it carries a positive charge, which helps to lift away toxins and impurities form are skin.

What Are The Benefits Of Bentonite Clay For Natural Hair?

There are two main ways that bentonite clay can be beneficial for our hair. Like I mention earlier on, bentonite clay when added to water release a negative charge, it hen draws out toxins and impurity for the hair and skin, which is positively charged. Apart from the whole complicated positive and negative charge situation… bentonite clay also has a lot of minerals that are essential for hair growth like sodium, potassium, and calcium. So it actually knowing all this, I really shouldn’t have been as surprised as i was when I used it and my hair feels amazing afterwards. Here are more way bentonite clay can be beneficial for your hair:

    1. It gets rid of dandruff: Bentonite clay soaks excess sebum and gets rid of fungus on your scalp. which is the main cause for generating dandruff. It also lifts up all the dirt from your scalp which prevents future dandruff.
    2. Promotes hair growthBentonite clay contains sodium, potassium, and calcium these are minerals that are needed for hair growth. But, additionally, it also removes dead skin cells from your scalp and cleanses hair follicles that, in turn, boost hair growth.
    3. Protects from infections: Bentonite clay also cleanses your scalp of oil and buildup. These actions combined protect your hair and scalp from bacterial and fungal infections.

How to use bentonite clay for natural hair?

Like i mentioned earlier on, the clay can be used as a shampoo or as a deep conditioner. I personally like to use it as a deep conditioner because i feel like i get the most out of the clay that way.

Here is a video on how i use the clay on my natural hair :

    What you will need:

    – Castor oil: https://amzn.to/2Tkzztv

    – Olive oil: https://amzn.to/2LbrrDF
    – Argan oil: https://amzn.to/2L62FF3
    – Tea tree oil: https://amzn.to/2k4HO8T
    – Rosemary oil: https://amzn.to/2IrR0yD
    – Peppermint oil: https://amzn.to/2IRJd0M

Use a wooden, plastic, or ceramic bowl and spoon to mix together the ingredients. Don’t use metal. Metal can activate the clay before it reaches your hair, reducing its ability to detoxify your hair. In the worse case, it can oxidize when you use metal utensils.

My experience with the bentonite clay for natural hair :

I love this stuff, i am not sure why i waited so long to try it out. It is a miracles product for my natural hair. it made my hair so soft, clean and yet so strong at the same time. The only thing that i didn’t really like is, how long it takes to wash it out and even after all the clay is out of your hair you can still feel some little particles of sand on your scalp. This eventually went out by itself.

So let me know, have you tried the bentonite clay out for your natural hair? how was your experience?

    Love & Light Adede
