    Revlon one step blow dryer

    MIRACLE WORKER

Before i start telling you about this blow dryer, let me say this first (SHOUTING): This Revlon one step blow dryer is hands down a MIRACLE WORKER!!! We all know natural hair can be a handful sometimes. So any product that can save me some time when it comes to my natural hair is a win for me. With that being said, i knew i have to try this Revlon one step blow dryer.

But first things first, let me introduce myself.

Hello earthling, my name is Adede. I am a natural hair enthusiast, a wife, a mother, and a psychiatric nurse. I have a youtube channel and a blog where i share tips and tricks for thin/fine natural hair sisters. I learn by basically experimenting with my hair and sharing it with my earthlings. You can thank me later 🙂 “.

I have been seeing the revlon one step blow dryer for a while now on youtube, Pinterest and Instagram, but i was hesitant of trying it out. If you have been following me for a while now, you know that i do not like blow drying my hair. In fact blow drying thin/fine natural hair is suicidal for our hair type because of its thin nature and besides, it’s not the most healthy thing to do (despite your hair type) if you are trying to grow natural hair. So i don’t like it nor advice it. but every now and then (once a year). i like to blow out my hair and style it.

Now, this brush claims to be lightweight, great at detangling and capable of styling, reduces frizz and pretty promises everything a natural hair lover will like. I don’t know about the detangling part of the promise… but i will advise you take the time to detangle your hair according to your natural hair routine, after that you use this blow dryer to blow dry your hair. It has four setting. There is ‘off, cool, low and high’ settings. The handle of the brush is easy to use and quite comfortable. it’s thick and long enough so you can easily grab it and give you control.

The bristles are soft but strong enough to detangle your hair. Although i will not advise to use it as a detangler. My strategy is to detangle your hair really good before using it. this way you avoid possible breakage. My hair is thin/fine so i am not going to take any chances of losing more hair.

    My experience:

I shampooed my hair with my African black soap (i have a video here showing how i make this soap) and deep conditioned it afterward. Like i mentioned before, it’s really important to detangle your hair well before blowing it out. I detangle my hair and moisturized it with my creme of nature argan oil moisturizer.

On top of all that i added my “MOST IMPORTANT STEP” heat protector. You don’t want to forget your heat protector. I can’t stress this last step enough. it’s really important when applying any kind of heat to your natural hair. Unless you don’t want your hair to go back to its natural kinky state, then you can skip this step.

After the whole wash day routine, i put my hair in four sections and i twisted it up. I then divided each of the 4 twists into two sections. Then I unraveled each twist and blew them out one-by-one with the dryer. I use a combination of low heat and high heat. I started with low heat then end with 30 seconds of high heat.

I was pleasantly surprised at how smooth it ran through my hair, and how quickly it dried each section. But the MIRACLE of the whole situation is how full my hair looked after i blew it out. I was shocked, i was speechless, i was amazed! I am still not sure if its because of the blow dryer or because I’ve been taking good care of my hair :). All i know is, i am in love with this revlon one step blow dryer. This revlon blow dryer is a must-have for every natural lister. It’s easy to use, quick and efficient. It’s definitely making it to the staple products stash.

    TIPS

    • Take big sections when blow drying the hair. This helps the hair to dry quicker.
    • Do not use it as a hairbrush, don’t run it through your hair like you are brushing your hair. It is not a hairbrush. Take the time and go slow on each section, so that it dries quickly and evenly.

    PROS

    • It took me about 30-45 min to finish blow drying my whole hair. Which is really quick for drying natural hair.
    • I am not sure if this is because of the blow dryer… but my hair looked really thick afterward. Normally when i blowout my hair, it still looks thin and you can see through it (that is one of the reasons i don’t like blowing out my hair). But for some reason, this blow dryer didn’t make my hair appear thin.
    • No frizz

    Cons

My hair felt dry after using this blow dryer. But this happens with most blow dryers that i have tried in the past. That’s why it’s important to moisturize your hair really well before blowing it out. This is also another one of my reasons that makes me not like blowing out my hair. My hair always feels really dry afterward.
